While Samsung Galaxy S II in most parts of the world has been updated to Jelly Bean version bringing the love of Google Now and Project Butter provide smooth scrolling on your phone, it has brought in a new life to the device. The same update has been delivered to Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-i727 today although it’s only available via Samsung KIES. So that’s not the preferred method but via Over the Air update it will be seeding in coming weeks.
The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update has plenty of goodies like the expandable notifications, Project Butter and Google Now integration along with few fixes. The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean is the fastest version of Android. Also this update fixes specific issues on Skyrocket like the removed of Qik, MSpot and call quality should be bit better. So connect your phone using the USB cable on to PC and make sure that you have Samsung KIES installed on your phone and you will see the update available.Also ensure that you have charged your phone more than 50 percent.
According to Samsung press release this update brings the following improvements –
- Google Now with enhanced voice activation
- Adds Browser bar, Drive Mode, ATT Locker, Mobile Hot Spot, Featured Apps widget as preloaded applications
- Removes Qik and MSpot applications
- Improved Call Quality
Once you are updated navigate to Menu > Settings > About Phone and check for the base band version. It should be I727UCKJ2, I727UCKK1, I727UCLA3, I727UCLF6 or I727UCLI3 before updating and once the update is done, you will be on I727UCMC1.
