Preparing your Phone

  • These instructions are only for HTC Eye, do not try it on any other device or you may brick your device completely.
  • Make sure your device is fully charged before you begin with the process.
  • Install compatible USB drivers for your device on PC.
  • Make a nandroid back up of current ROM and also back up other important data in the recovery mode.
  • Unlock the device bootloader.
  • A device should be rooted and it should have a custom recovery installed on it.
  • Enable USB debugging mode on your device. Go to Settings > Developer Options > USB debugging mode.
  • And kindly proceed with the instructions mentioned below at your own risk.

Install Pre-rooted Stock version custom ROM

  1. Download the custom ROM based Android Marshmallow file from here.
  2. Connect you device to PC and transfer both downloaded files to device internal storage.
  3. Disconnect the device and turn it off.
  4. Reboot the device into recovery mode by pressing and holding appropriate Volume and Power key together for few seconds.
  5. In recovery menu tap on Wipe and select the options you want to wipe.
  6. Confirm the Wipe action by using Swipe to Wipe buttons.
  7. Return to main menu and tap on Install tab then navigate to custom ROM file stored in internal memory of your device in step 3.
  8. Now swipe the Swipe to flash button to start the flashing process.
  9. Wait till the flash process is completed.
  10. Now return to main recovery menu and tap on Reboot tab to reboot the system in normal mode.

First boot might take few minutes so do not panic. You can now check the Android version of your device in Settings > About Device > Android Version.
