The Micromax Canvas 4 blazed its way through the smartphone market with high-end specs at much lower prices, leaving other mobile manufacturers quite stumped. And now we are soon expecting a repeat performance by the next-gen offer in Canvas series- the Canvas 5. While Samsung has upped the ante in screen-size by bringing in a 5-inch smartphone in its Galaxy Note, Micromax like many other mobile handset makers have followed suit and gone with bigger-sized screens to woo the users. Canvas 1 was hugely popular and Canvas 5 is expected to give direct competition to Samsung Galaxy S4.
Launch: When?
According to inside reports Canvas 5 should be out in mid December. So if things go in time the powerful new product will be out by Christmas.

Micromax Canvas 5 is slated to become the first device with a pre-installed Blackberry messenger not yet available on Google Play Store. You’ll also be getting NFC- near field communication aka mobile wallet for paying all bills online. It’s going to be the first in Indian-made smartphones to offer 4G connectivity along with improved GPS location.
When compared to Canvas 4, the new launch would be 38% slimmer, have 50% better battery life and run on the latest Android OS 4.4 Kitkat.
Look out for full-HD display marking 1080×1920 and powerful camera with large image sensor. The camera capacity is touted to near 20 megapixels. Other expected specs include a possible 2GB to 3 GB RAM, 16/32 GB memory, a 3000 mAh battery, HDMI support, Bluetooth v 4.0 with A2DP, LED flash, face detection and geo-tagging. The phone could combine water-proofing with dust resistance, improved gesture control and dual camera.
