Reports from JDI, the display supplier indicates OLED display will not arrive before iPhone 8 in 2017.

Unlike other OEM, Apple doesn’t release many smartphones, since 2007 the Cupertino tech giant has released exactly a dozen smartphone, not more than that. The iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus are the latest breed of iPhone models launched on September 25, 2015. The next in the pipeline is iPhone 7 but one thing we want to say is that – as earlier rumored OLED display on iPhone will not be arriving next year as reports suggests that Apple enthusiastic have to wait till iPhone 8 to see OLED display practically.

JDI is the top most supplier when it comes to display for iPhone. Recently Apple has spend $1.9 billion cash for new JDI plant which clearly means that JDI has long way to go with the popular smartphone maker in the world.

Recently LG spend about $4.2 Billion for manufacturing OLED screens for Apple Watch 2nd generation and third generation, which also indicates that LG is remained solely for manufacturing OLED display for Apple’s wearable devices.

For now, JDI is gearing up for iPhone 8 itself considering that iPhone 7 will be followed with iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus. The company has restructure available resources to OLED line of production.

We also have reports that Apple is in talks with Samsung and LG – two of the world’s first companies to come up with OLED panels.
