Samsung experimenting on Galaxy Folder an Android powered flip phone. Check specs, features & detailed availability.
Samsung is doing the unbelievable things. After flurry of Android powered touchscreen phones, they are back to flip phones with numeric keypad. I loved flip phones years back but Android has changed my choice and now Android + Flip Phone will be my choice.Samsung Galaxy Folder is an Android flip phone scheduled for launch in South Korea. It will be available for two different carriers in Samsung homeland with model number as SHV-E400S/SHV-E400K, however these two carriers are unknown to us right now. This phone will also include alpha numeric keypad to cover up the space when the phone is open and when the flip is closed, you can work it like a touchscreen device.
Samsung SCH-W789 key specs are –
- Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS
- 1.2 Ghz Qualcomm MSM8625Q quad core processor
- 5 mega pixel camera
- 1500 mAh battery
- Dual 3.3 inches HVGA display
- Dual SIM CDMA+GSM support
- 1 GB RAM
- 8 GB internal memory
- Micro Sd card slot
However this is not the first Android powered flip phone from the company as they have earlier launched SCH-W999 in China. It rumored to feature WVGA display of unknown size and dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with TD-SCDMA support.
Also there is no word right now been said on international availability. Likely it might not be released outside South Korea just like W999 which was eventually limited for sale in China. If it’s successful and users gets on with it, then we might see this device arriving soon for other countries.
