Alcatel’s upcoming 2018 lineup has been revealed and a total of six smartphones along with their images were tweeted by tipster Evan Blass on his Twitter handle. These phones are expected to release in early 2018 and most probably they will be available in several markets by mid-2018.
Most of the devices are in the Alcatel 3 series as Alcatel 3, 3C, 3V and 3X are planned. Alcatel 3V and Alcatel 3X are expected to be the flagship Alcatel phone in 2018 along with Alcatel 5. They are build with industry’s most common trend of dual camera setup on the back and a fingerprint scanning unit below that. The model appears to have a 18:9 aspect ration and have minimal size bezels.
Alcatel 3 and 3C features a rear-facing fingerprint sensor with a normal camera and are believed to be mid-range smartphones. Apart from that Alcatel 1X will be an entry-level smartphone.
Alcatel will longer use IDOL name in its handsets in 2018 and that’s something like Nokia and are on the footstep of BlackBerry, the Canadian smartphone maker. The company signed a MoU to license its design and software to China’s TCL. We hope that turns fortunes in favour of Alcatel.
The devices are most probably expected to be announced at Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2018) or Mobile World Congress (2018), two of the biggest technology events held in January and February respectively.
