Amazon is working on an Instant messaging app to compete with WhatsApp. According to News Nexa, it will be named as “Amazon Anytime“. We have seen instant messaging topping the charts in apps on Android and iPhone. Amazon wants to be in that list and possibly achieve what WhatsApp has done.

Anytime by Amazon is an advanced social messaging app, to be soon available for iPhone on App Store, Android devices on Play Store and for desktop (Windows & Mac). Not sure how it will be implemented in desktop but it will be something similar of WhatsApp and includes all the basic social messaging app features.
It looks like Amazon will integrate proprietary Instant Messaging app on their products like Amazon Echo and Amazon Alexa.

- Encrypted personal chat for bank account details and ID proofs send
- High Definition (HD) voice and video calls for free worldwide
- Group chats and Group calls

This is just the start, Amazon is expected to make it as a complete social app which can rival Facebook Messenger, Skype, Viber, Hike and WeChat.
