The data by Google is collected from Google Play Store app and might not be 100% accurate. For the month of October, there is steady rise for Android Kitkat version although Jelly Bean share remains nearly same. Ice Cream Sandwich and Gingerbread sees decline in distribution percentage.
Jelly Bean Still Leading
Jelly Bean continues to have higher edge with 55 % of Android devices still running the much outdated version. Jelly Bean share is divided into following –
- Android 4.1.x – 26.5 %
- Android 4.2.x – 19.8 %
- Android 4.3 – 7.9 %
September 2014 Prediction
In the next month we might expect the following results –
- Android Jelly Bean will continue to lead with more than 50% devices.
- Android Kitkat number will rise further, maybe to 24%.
- Android 2.2 Froyo will not be included in the list because the latest Play Store doesn’t support the older Android version.
