Firefox Marketplace is the place where you browse different Firefox OS app and install them on your device.
Not too long ago, Android started a journey where Firefox OS is right now. Time to welcome new operating system for mobiles as Ubuntu, Tizen and Firefox are gearing up but Firefox could take early inroads very soon.

Just like Play Store for Android, Marketplace is for Firefox OS powered phones & tablets to browse through various applications, widgets, and tools. In future Firefox Marketplace will soon grow to include Movies for rent, ebooks, and Firefox Stock devices. Regarding movies for rent, ebooks and devices on Firefox Marketplace, it’s too early to talk about because it can take years for Firefox to include.
What is Firefox Marketplace?
It is the place where you can find, try out different apps on your phone, tablets. The applications available over here are built on HTML5 and it behaves just like native apps which can be used across multiple platforms like Android. The design of marketplace makes it easier to search or find your favorite app.
Firefox Marketplace Apps
Firefox Marketplace is growing in terms of apps available. As of now, I can only see not more than 100 apps available(July 10, 2013) but soon it will include thousand other apps.
Supported Handset
As of now, Firefox Marketplace can be accessed on all Firefox OS-powered phones like ZTE Open, Geeksphone Keon and Peak and Alcatel One Touch Fire phone. It can be accessed on all Android-powered phones as well and also supports 7-inch tablets.
