Right after Nexus 7 availability in India at Rs 16,000, Google has come up with Play Movies app by which users can rent/purchase movies. So users in India have Google Play Books, Movies available for them now apart from purchasing Android apps. In another update, Gmail app on your Android featured phones is available in six widely spoken Indian languages. Google expects that 500 million users will join the internet by 2015 and localization will play an important role as people want to communicate in the language that they know better.
Ian Hill the Project Manager at Google Localization, has posted an update on Gmailblog confirming the roll out of six Indian languages for not just Android phones, but any featured phone. These six India languages include Gujarati, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada & Bengali. To get any of these mentioned languages, you need to go through Settings in Gmail while you are using it on your phone. Once you are done selecting languages, hit Save Settings and then your mail box will automatically load showing your desired language settings.
