Kyocera Corporation is one such Japan maker which supplies rugged phone for various telecom operators. Some of their popular handsets are Hydro Life C6530, Hydro XTRM and Kyocera Rally as sold on T-Mobile USA. Kyocera also has Hydro Edge, the IP57 certified phone for Sprint’s Boost Mobile.
Sprint is also selling Android 4.1 Jelly Bean powered Kyocera Torque for $49.99 since a long time and they are in need of a successor badly. There is a new handset certified by FCC dated March 4, 2016 and it’s the Kyocera Hydro VIEW C6743 smartphone. The name of the device is already known to all as Cricket Wireless is selling this device from the start of this year. The one with C6743 will be limited to Sprint network as it corresponds to FDD-LTE 1900 [B25] / 800 [B26] MHz, TD-LTE 2500 [B41] MHz, CDMA 2000 1900 [BC1]/ 800 [BC0/C10] MHz.
It’s the one which is currently sold by Cricket Wireless sporting 5 inch qHD display with 960 x 540 pixels resolution and powered with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of box. It runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon MSM8909 quad core processor clocked at 1.1 Ghz and coupled with 1 Gigs of RAM. There is 8 GB internal memory on the device which can be expanded using the micro SD card slot supporting up to 64 GB.
Kyocera Hydro View has 5 mega pixel camera on the rear side with LED flash capable of recording full HD videos at 30 fps and 2 mega pixel front facing snapper for selfies. Powered with 2160 mAh battery you are bound to get up to 11 hours of talk time or 6.7 days of standby time. The dimensions of the device are 5.47 x 2.84 x 0.39 inch with weight of 4.9 oz.
