Samsung India has officially launched Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) smartphones in India. Both smartphones along with Galaxy A3 (2017) were unveiled at CES 2017 Las Vegas event held in the first week of January 2017. All of them are sold in Russia since January first week and were later announced at CES 2017.Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7 2017

Latest 2017 series of Galaxy A series phones are IP-68 certified handsets for water, dust and sand resistance. They are premium looking handsets with metal designs and 3D glass back.

Coming to the specifications, except display size and battery capacity everything other remains same. Galaxy A5 2017 has 5.2-inch full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels Super AMOLED display while Galaxy A7 2017 gets 5.7-inch 2017 full HD Super AMOLED display.

Both of them are powered by Exynos 7880 chipset with Octa core processor clocked at 1.9 GHz and includes 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage and a micro SD card slot with up to 256 GB micro SD card support. They run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and includes dual SIM connectivity.

Talking about camera specifications, both have 16 megapixel snapper on the rear side with LED flash with f/1.9 aperture and same 16 megapixel sensor on the front for selfies and video calls.

Samsung says that these new 2017 smartphones in the Galaxy A Series have enhanced cameras as compared to their predecessors and are perfect for low-light photos. It also features a simplified UX which makes taking selfies easier, easy to apply filters/effects and gets switching mode. Additionally, a Food Mode is also found for foodies.

In terms of battery, we found Galaxy A5 2017 with 3000 mAh battery and Galaxy A7 2017 with 3600 mAh battery. Both includes adaptive fast charging feature. Other functions includes USB Type-C port and support for Samsung Pay for digital payments.

These new Galaxy A 2017 series of smartphones are planned for launch in the United States but with different names. Verizon Wireless version of Galaxy A7 2017 will be named as Galaxy J7 V while Tracfone variant is called as Galaxy J7 Sky Pro. Last month, we reported on Galaxy J3 Luna Pro and Galaxy J7 Sky Pro devices spotted on US trademark and could be announced at any time in coming days.

The Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) are available in Black Sky, Gold Sand priced at Rs 28,990 and Rs 33,490 respectively. It will be available on March 15th, both online and at offline stores. Pre-booking starts on March 6 [Monday] on Samsung E-Store. No details of Blue Mist, and Peach Cloud color variants was revealed. Maybe we have to wait for couple of months.
