Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro Launched in China with 16-megapixel Selfie Camera & Always-On 5.2″ Display at $362

After launching Galaxy A5 2017 and Galaxy A7 2017 in India, Samsung officially launches Galaxy C5 Pro smartphone in China. It’s the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in the “Galaxy C-Series“. It’s a mid-range device but still packs a punch. With metal unibody, it looks very identical to Galaxy C7 Pro in terms of design.

With all new Galaxy C5 Pro, Samsung takes on Vivo and Oppo Mobiles in the fight of Selfie camera phones. Vivo has V5 and V5 Plus with a dual front camera for moonlight selfies and Oppo F1s is expert in Selfies. It flaunts a 16-megapixel selfie camera with f/1.9 aperture and a 16 megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture placed in the center for the photography enthusiast. There is a dual LED flash beside it.

It’s equipped with a 5.2 inch Super AMOLED display with full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution along with 2.5 glass on top. Just like Galaxy C9 Pro, it comes with Always-on display – a feature which shows time, date and other info even when the device is locked.

Under the hood, it’s powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 chipset with 2.2 GHz Octa core processor. The Adreno 506 chip handles the GPU and it’s paired with 4 GB of RAM for performance. Inbuilt storage on the device is 64 GB with further memory expansion via microSD card, up to 256 GB. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top. It’s highly likely to get Android 7.0 Nougat update via Over the Air.

The Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro is now available for pre-order via Samsung Shop China online in Maple Leaf, Rose Powder, Blue Lake color at ¥ 2,499[$362, when converted].

While the 2600 mAh battery doesn’t sound too good, but it does wonderful job thanks to Ultra Power saving mode which helps to get extend battery life. There is also Samsung’s proprietary adaptive quick charge option as well.

On the connectivity front, it includes options like 4G with VoLTE, WiFi, ANT+, Bluetooth, GPS with aGPS, USB 3.1 Type-C port, NFC, 3.5 mm headphone.

While launch outside China hasn’t been confirmed officially, it’s likely to get a release outside China but very soon. It’s international version recently got WiFi certification.
