Sony Xperia ZR is now seeding Android 4.2.2. Jelly Bean update, available via Sony PC Companion tool well ahead of its schedule.
Sony Mobiles reported that they will provide Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update to their latest Xperia ZR model in early August first week or second week. As a surprise to us, we see that this update is now available well ahead of its normal scheduled timings. Although this update is not available directly via Over the Air, you need to install the company’s PC Companion tool to get started. So it’ the time to remove the custom firmware and go ahead with official Android 4.2 release.
Among the improvements included in this update, it brings Quick Settings at the top to be easily configured. The update also brings DayDreaming a different kind of screen saver app for your Xperia Z phone.
If you are excited about this update, they why not download Sony PC Companion tool and update your handset to the latest version of Android. With arrival of Android 4.2.2 update, it clear that Xperia ZR is among the list to be included for Android 4.3 Jelly Bean schedule but not as early as Christmas this year. Once the firmware is downloaded, it will be applied to your handset and it will then prompt to restart your device. Don’t worry, it will take a little more time to boot in for the first time on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
If you are not able to see the update available via PC Companion, we recommend you to wait for a week for OTA update.
