Taipei, one of the largest tech event fair in Asia continues to show up more products as we see Taiwan Mobile launching new smartphones in the market.Taiwan Mobile A5 Phone

Partnered up with Hon Hai Precision Industry Co to cater the low cost phone market segment, Taiwan based second largest mobile provider on Monday announced A5 smartphone. This is the first time that Hon Hai has produced a mobile phone for local operator which carries operator’s brand as earlier they have manufactured devices for iPhones and iPads.

Taiwan Mobile branded A5 smartphone will feature 4.3 inches touchscreen display and powered with 1 Ghz dual core processor. It will include Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of box and provides all the functions found on any Android phone like Play Store access, WiFi, WiFi tether and lot more. It should go on for sale from mid-July at NT $3990 (USD 134) a contract free pricing.

Taiwan Mobile also launched three own branded device in various screen sizes of 3.5 inches, 4 inches and 5 inches display manufactured by ZTE Corporation. Taiwan Mobile plans to sell 1.8 million phones in 2013 up from its previous sale of 1.5 million to 1.6 million units from previous year. They are the biggest competitor to HTC in Taiwan as they have targetted the low price segment since few years. The budget price approach of smartphone has worked for Taiwan Mobile.
