Verizon BlackBerry Priv gets Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update – Official

The big red carrier has finally rolled out the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OTA update to BlackBerry Priv.

Last year launched BlackBerry Priv smartphone on Verizon has been now upgraded to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. When launched, the BlackBerry Priv was running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Actually the Android 6.0.1 roll began last week as it was already available to some users. And its just today that Verizon has officially confirmed the software update availability.

This update brings major feature addition of VoLTE support. This means that you will be now able to make calls over WiFi network if the cellular network is now available.

Its also said that the the update also brings out BlackBerry Keyboard improvement and ability to sort apps based on business and personal use.

Altogether the Android Nougat includes 250 improvements overall but we just have listed top 10 Nougat features.

The update is available for download via Over the Air. You should have received the update notification on your device notification panel. If you haven’t then you can force check for it manually by going through Settings > About Phone and then tap on Software Update. You will require a working Internet connection for this.
