Samsung Mobiles USA has started rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to Verizon variant of Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) SM-J320P in the United States. It’s a major update to the device and arrives as a NMF26X.J320VVRU2BQJ1 software version.

This Nougat update is optimized for device performance and resolves known issues apart from BlueBorne vulnerability patch. It also brings a fix to Wi-Fi voice call drops. Also it brings host of new features that were announced with Android Nougat. Most importantly it brings out split screen functionality to the device and includes a new battery management feature which helps you to maximize your phone’s battery using Ultra Power saving mode and Power saving mode. An app Power monitoring app finds inactive apps which are consuming battery and put them into sleep.

For the photo lovers, there are new Effects added. For those users who were complaining of Proximity sensor performance, the update brings a fix to it as well.

In order to proceed with the update you should connect your device to a Wi-Fi network in order to download the update file first. Verizon has send notification about the device update availability and if you don’t see it on your device then you can force check for manual update by going through Settings > About Device > Software > Check Now.

Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 model was announced in January 2016 at Consumer Electronics Show that year and it’s available in several countries with different model numbers.
