Unlike Oppo, Vivo Mobiles not only manufacturers Selfie phones but also has affordable smartphones in tow. After launching Vivo V5, a perfect selfie phone with 20 megapixel front camera with Sony IMX376 image sensor, now unveils Y25, a budget 4G smartphone in Malaysia. It’s the latest addition by Vivo to “Y Series” of smartphones and gets a price tag of MYR 499[$120].
With 4.5-inch 854 x 480 pixels IPS display and a quad-core processor with Mediatek MT6580 chipset. With that configuration and 1 GB RAM with 16 GB built-in expandable storage option, the device is certainly underpowered.
In terms of camera, Vivo Y25 flaunts 5 megapixel rear camera supported by a LED flash. There is a 2 megapixel front facing camera for video calling and selfies. A 1900 mAh battery supplies the power to the device.
It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based Funtouch OS 2.1 and may not be upgraded Android 6.0 Marshmallow or Android 7.0 Nougat.
Among the connectivity options, we have dual SIM connectivity, micro-USB port, WiFi, Bluetooth v4.1 and GPS with aGPS. It has Ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and accelerometer.
Although no word has been said about the international launch, it could well be launched in other Asian countries like India, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
Last month, the company introduced Y55s in India at Rs 12,490 with 5.2 inch HD IPS display, Android 6.0 Marshmallow based FunTouch OS 3.0, 1.4 GHz Quad core Snapdragon 425 processor, 3 GB RAM and 16 GB built storage. It flaunts 13 megapixel primary camera and 5 megapixel camera on the front with 2730 mAh battery.
