AT&T Samsung Galaxy S8 Active gets Android Oreo update

The Android Oreo update for Samsung phones is play and pause until now but ever since they have done rectification on the firmware update for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, it’s a smoother ride. AT&T has started pushing out a new Android 8.0 Oreo update to Galaxy S8 Active smartphone.

This new firmware on AT&T carries a build number as G892AUCU2BRCS and also brings out March Android security fixes. The Samsung Experience version has also been upgraded to 9.0.

The update is been rolled out via Over the Air (OTA) and you need to connect your device to available Wi-Fi or use Mobile Data in order to download the firmware package.  Updating Galaxy S8 Active to Oreo could take approximately 20 minutes.

Talking about the Android updates, Google is close to releasing the Android 9.0 aka Android P version. The first developer preview is already available and in the second week of April, we can expect the second Android P developer preview.

Still a lot many smartphones are expected to get the Android Oreo update and some of the OEMs/carriers might skip Oreo 8.0 update in favor of Android 8.1 Oreo update, the latest version.
