How to Remove Hyperlink Underline in Genesis Theme

I have been using Metro Pro theme since a long time but to give a simple look to, I have Genesis Sample theme enabled as StudioPress always recommend using a child theme but not just the framework. Every modification or changes that you do, you should do it in the child theme but not in the Genesis Framework. One of the recent changes that I did was to remove hyperlink underline in Genesis theme.

Removing underline from links in the Genesis theme will help in user engagement. The text will look more visual appeal to readers, thus helping in decreasing bounce rate. No matter what font you use, you are free to remove text decorations or link underlines in Genesis child theme.

Do you want to do that? No need of hiring a developer for this purpose as you can do it right away. The steps are quite easy and simple to understand.

From your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Editor.

You will be landed on style.css file by default.

Look out for this code –

text-decoration: underline

(Tip – Use CTRL + F to find text on a particular web page and enter the text).

You will find this code –

a {
color: #c3251d;
text-decoration: underline;

Replace it with this one –

a {
color: #c3251d;
text-decoration: none;

So basically, here we just replace text-decoration from underline to none.

That’s it.

You have just removed underline from links in Genesis Framework theme.

Which theme are you using on your current WordPress blog?

Do share this with your friends on Twitter, Google+ and Facebook to let them know about it.
