Today is been a great day for tech updates but for telecom nothing great. Ok! Let’s start with something good for Apple fans as Fall 2018 Event is approaching fast.

Apple applies for a patent on a different type of in-display fingerprint scanner

The 2018 iPhone models are expected to include the TrueDepth Camera and Face ID. USPTO recently published the application, which as we just said in headlines above, reveals the use of in-display technology to scan a fingerprint.

So, we are done with Apple, now let’s move on to the next big company, Google as they have announced Android 9 Pie (Go Edition).

Google announces Android 9 Pie (Go Edition) with improved security, coming this fall

Android 9.0 got its name last week and now Google has also announced Android Pie Go Edition phones. It’s believed to offer more storage for low-end phones and will include fast booting time.

Nokia Confirms 16 Phones to get Android Pie update

Android Pie was announced just last week and OEM’s are confirming the list of phones to get the upgrade. Nokia Android phone buyers will be the happiest because a total of 16 phones will get the upgrade.

BlackBerry Keyone starts receiving the Oreo update today

With Android Phones, the Canadian carrier is back in the line of smartphone business which was declining continuously. The BlackBerry Keyone Android 8.0 Oreo update is now available. It ran on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. Maybe it’s not receiving the Android Pie update.

$224 Million Lawsuit Filed Against AT&T Over SIM Swap Fraud

In a common occurrence these days, AT&T has been fined with a $224 Million lawsuit over “SIM Swap Fraud case“. SIM Swap fraud happens when someone contacts a carrier with the intention of swapping the data associated with someone else’s SIM card to one they control. Further, you can read an interesting story about on how this case emerged.
