Last week when Android 6.0 Marshamallow got official several OEM has announced the roadmap revealing possible handsets to get the latest Android update. Motorola, Sony and Samsung has confirmed which of the current existing smartphone will get the latest Android 6.0 update and we found 14 Xperia devices scheduled to receive the Marshmallow treatment.
Interestingly we found that among the 14 Xperia devices for Marshmallow roadmap, XPeria C4, Xperia Z3+, Xperia M4 Aqua, Xperia C5 Ultra and Xperia M5 share a common thing. All of these will skip Andorid 5.1 Lollipop for the sake of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
This is not the first time that a smartphone will skip incremental software update, it happened with Lollipop as several phones skipped minor 4.4 Kitkat build for the sake of materialistic Lollipop update.
Apart from above mentioned five Sony’s handset the Marshmallow will be pushed out to few tablets namely to Xperia Z3 Tablet, Xperia Z4 Tablet and Xperia Z2 Tablet.

Marshmallow software update will happen in coming months both via Over the Air [OTA] and also by connecting your smartphone to PC using the USB Cable and popping into Sony PC Companion.
