Of these 700 million users, India is only the single country where 52 million active users live and enjoy WhatsApp service. No other country in the world has such a big number although that’s just half of Facebook’s active users in the sub-continent. With Facebook acquiring WhatsApp, there will be mutual benefits for both the companies and further brave decision to come up with Voice calling feature in Q2, 2014, means one thing – subscribers count will rise.
It too just 5 years for WhatsApp to achieve such a big milestone since its inception. WhatsApp active users are growing thick and fast in countries like Brazil, Mexico, Russia and India but it’s still unpopular in countries like USA and China. Soon the number will touch down 800 millions.
