With a number of rumors that came in the last couple of weeks, everyone was expecting Meizu to launch their flagship Meizu PRO 7 smartphone on September 13, 2016 but it didn’t happen. Speaking of Meizu PRO 7 launch, the company’s vice president of sales and marketing, Li Nan confirmed that they have no plans to unveil PRO 7 until next year.
Now that being said, there are rumors of Meizu PRO 6s, a new smartphone scheduled to launch in November. This report of a new device comes from Weibo user named @WandT mobile technology. According to him, there will be two flagship devices expected from the house of Meizu and those will see the light of the day before PRO 7 is launched next year. In addition to Pro 6s there will be Pro 6 Plus.
The Meizu Pro 6S will be powered by Mediatek’s latest MTK6757 aka Helio P20 chipset. It’s the first 16 nm processor introduced at Mobile World Congress 2016 and focuses on power efficiency. Its uses Octa-core ARM Cortex A53 setup clocked at 2.3 GHz and incorporates new Mali T880 MP2 graphic clocked at a speedy 900 MHz, a 25% better performance than previous generations. It brings support for up to two displays at full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution working at 60 frames per second.
The latest Mediatek Helio P20 chip is capable of handling 24 mega pixel shooter or even the 13 mega pixel + 13 mega pixel dual camera setup. It can record up to 4Kx2K videos at 30 fps with Cat 6 LTE connectivity.
The Meizu Pro 6 Plus on the other-side will be powered with Samsung’s latest Exynos 8890 chipset. This is not the first time that we hear about PRO 6 Plus as we already have few rumors that it will be launching on August 30. That also didn’t happen. Maybe Meizu wants to ensure everything is right before launching these two handsets.
As of now that’s the only thing we know about upcoming Meizu phones. No other details are available yet. We will keep a close eye on these devices from the house of Meizu and will let you know about every detail of it.
